JBYD: Seeing Jesus in Adoration

"I wanted to write a thank you to you and your staff for the incredible time my family had at Holy Hill this weekend.

With the theme being "Encounter", I wanted to share with you some things that happened to my son during the day's visit.

During Reconciliation, Luke was placed face to face with a priest outside. Afterward, he had an incredible look on his face. Luke told me he saw Jesus in the priest's eyes.

Another encounter: Adoration, in the procession, the Monstrance was shown directly to Luke. He started to cry deeply. When the procession moved on he sat there for quite awhile with his hands covering his face, Luke told me he was overcome with the Lord's presence. An incredible experience for sure.

In the past 15 years, our family has been members of 3 churches (we've moved quite a bit). During those times, the church we were at didn't sponsor a trip to John Bosco or the rally in March. My husband and I have taken it upon ourselves that our family attend a youth rally once a year. It is important that my children as preteens and teens have an opportunity to see the Holy Spirit in action. I believe these events have helped create a deeper foundation in my children as they grow. I have five kids. My oldest is an English teacher at a Catholic School. The next two are in college and work at Camp Tekakwitha (Catholic camp in Shawano, WI) as camp counselors in the summer and are active in their campus Catholic groups. My last two--Luke and Anna, are still learning but are hopefully on the right track.

In any case, I'm sharing this with you because I wanted you all to know we appreciate the time, energy, and stress it takes to put something like this together. This world is a chaotic, crazy place so to be reminded God is there constant and true is such a gift.

God bless you all!

PS: Another sign on an incredible time, my 4 year old slept until 9:30am the next day. That NEVER happens!!!"
